Over the course of my internship so far, I’ve designed logos for various CityVet initiatives. Working directly with our CMO to ensure my designs align with our branding and positioning, I created logos for internal company initiatives, as well as an animated logo for recruitment efforts. Throughout this process, I learned new skills like animating GIFs in Photoshop and pushed my creativity to come up with unique ideas.

[ CityVet Logos ]

CityVet is updating our ticket system to support our clinics, and I was asked to create a logo for the new C.A.T. (Clinic Assistance Ticket) system. I thought it would be really cute to create another animated logo with a cat actually receiving the tickets, so I created the graphics in Illustrator and pulled them into Photoshop to animate them into a GIF. I struggled with the anti-aliasing and transparency at first, but I managed to make the GIF work with a transparent background. Since the gray cat blends into my site background, I added a white shape behind it for easier viewing. :3

MUTTS is an internal site used by CityVet employees, and I was tasked with “modernizing” the old (plain) logo. Because one of the Ts in MUTTS stands for technology, I came up with the 8-bit concept and thought it would be really cute if I animated it. And so that I did! I learned how to do frame animations in Photoshop to create this GIF that is now live on the MUTTS website. :3

CityVet Connect is a Facebook group used by CityVet doctors and used to build community. Our CMO had a vision of including puzzle pieces in the logo to allude to that sense of connection so I incorporated that into the double Ns of "connect”. I also mocked up another version (that I thought was super cute) using cursive for connection but we ended up going with the puzzle pieces.

After conducting a competitive analysis (that I spearheaded!), the marketing team realized that most of CityVet’s leadership are vets, which sets us apart from our competitors. We wanted to emphasize that, particularly for positioning on the recruiting side, so I was asked to create a logo with the new tagline. I created this GIF in PowerPoint that is now used in email signatures by the recruiting team.
